Jane R. Holt, D.D.S.

Dr. Holt is originally from Reidsville, North Carolina.  She attended Meredith College for three years and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BS in Dental Hygiene.  She practiced dental hygiene for three years and simultaneously took courses to apply to dental school.  She entered the University Of North Carolina School Of Dentistry in 1980 and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1984. She has practiced dentistry in Cary since 1984.

Dr. Holt has a keen interest in continuing education.  She has studied extensively in the field of occlusion and temperomandibular joint dysfunction.  These studies have been at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Study in St. Petersburg, Florida.  Dr. Peter Dawson is an internationally known expert in the field of occlusion and its effects on the teeth and musculature of the head and neck.  Dr. Holt applies Dr. Dawson’s teachings in her everyday work.  Dr. Holt has also attended courses by Dr. Frank Spear, an internationally known expert in occlusion and restorative dentistry.

Dr. Holt is married and has three children, 19, 14, and 14 (yes, the last two are twins!).  She also enjoys her dog and three cats.  She is a member of The American Dental Association, The North Carolina Dental Society, and The Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Holt enjoys interaction with her patients.  She has a sense of humor and a positive approach to the practice of dentistry.  She is proud of her characteristics of persistence and patience.  These traits are required to achieve the level and quality of dentistry that we all seek. Kindness and the skill of listening are the human qualities that are needed to interact with people.  Dr. Holt strives to keep all of these traits and skills in balance to be able to say, "I have done my best work and have treated everyone as I would like to be treated."
